Nurturing Global Leaders in Terahertz Innovation
The GROW-THz initiative, named to reflect our aspiration for “growth” through advancements in terahertz (THz) technology, aims to pioneer the path toward practical applications of ultra-high-speed terahertz communication, not only for professional use but also for everyday users. At the same time, it strives to build a leading global community in the field of terahertz technology and foster the next generation of top-tier researchers.
This initiative is one of the telecommunications projects under JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency)’s ASPIRE (Adopting Sustainable Partnerships for Innovative Research Ecosystem) program and officially commenced in December 2024. Graduate students from Japanese consortium institutions are encouraged to pursue doctoral studies and participate in year-long international research exchanges with partner institutions to advance collaborative research. Likewise, young researchers, including graduate students from partner institutions, are invited to Japan, fostering a robust and interconnected global research network. The consortium consists of ten institutions.
